Job summary

Home Instead is hiring caregivers to support seniors in the Okotoks and High River areas. The right candidate brings compassion, reliability, and a true desire to help clients live independently at home.

We value one-on-one client care, flexible scheduling, and ongoing training. A valid driver’s license and reliable daily transportation are required, with strict background checks to ensure client safety and trust.

Qualifications

• Experience in healthcare or in-home care is preferred.
• Ability to perform all essential job functions in a one-on-one setting.
• Strong written and verbal communication in English.
• Valid class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
• Criminal background check and Vulnerable Sector Check are expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance (showering, bathing, dressing, eating).
• Remind clients to take prescribed medications.
• Assist with mobility and accompany to appointments or activities.
• Assist with personal care and hygiene.
• Plan and prepare meals.
• Complete client shopping or assist with errands.
• Perform housekeeping duties.
• Report unusual incidents and act quickly in emergencies.
• Offer daily living activities and companionship.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly clients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing and eating
• Remindclients to take prescribed medication
• Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks etc.)
• Assist with personal care and hygiene
• Plan and prepare meals
• Complete client’s shopping or accompany them to successfully do so
• Perform housekeeping duties
• Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Offer activities that are essential for daily living by assisting clients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary

Qualifications

• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills
• Ability to perform all essential job functions
• Great written and verbal communication skills, in English
• Valid class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation every single day
• Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
• Available to work the same shifts each week
• Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment (minimum of 1 year)
• Willingness to enforce health and safety standards
