Interior Health Authority in Penticton, BC is hiring a Care Aide to join a dynamic, multidisciplinary team in a long-term care setting. Working under RNs and LPNs, you help with daily living activities and support each patient's physical, emotional and social needs.

Typical duties include assisting with personal care, mobility, temperature checks, observing changes, accompanying clients on outings, and completing delegated clerical tasks.

• Experience in long-term care settings preferred.

About The Job

As the Care Aide you will work as an integral part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team, who provide care and support in a long-term care setting. Working under the direction of RN’s and LPN’s, Care Aide’s have key responsibilities in the individual care plan for each patient, ensuring their physical, emotional and social needs are supported, while promoting maximum independence.

Typical Duties Include

• Assisting with personal care and activities of daily living
• Assisting with mobility, transfers and related equipment
• Performing nursing procedures such as taking temperature, pulse and respiration
• Housekeeping activities relating to maintaining a safe and healthy environment
• Observing and reporting changes in patient behavior and condition
• Accompanying clients on outings and during social activities
• Performing clerical duties and delegated tasks

This is a Casual opportunity. Casual Employees are not guaranteed hours of work and can range from 0-37.5 hours per week on an as-needed basis.
