Interior Health Authority is seeking an experienced Care Aide to join the Long-term Care team at Swan Valley Lodge in Creston, BC. The role involves collaborating with RN/LPN staff to support patient care, promote independence and contribute to a positive resident experience.

Shifts rotate day and night. This is a relief part-time opportunity until the incumbent returns, offering employee benefits and opportunities for training and advancement within a supportive team.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with personal care and activities of daily living.
• Assisting with mobility, transfers and related equipment.
• Performing nursing procedures such as taking temperature, pulse and respiration.
• Housekeeping activities relating to maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
• Observing and reporting changes in patient behavior and condition.
• Accompanying clients on outings and during social activities.
• Performing clerical duties and delegated tasks.

About The Job

As the Care Aide you will work as an integral part of a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team, who provide care and support in a long-term care setting. Working under the direction of RN’s and LPN’s, Care Aide’s have key responsibilities in the individual care plan for each patient, ensuring their physical, emotional and social needs are supported, while promoting maximum independence.

Typical Duties Include

• Assisting with personal care and activities of daily living
• Assisting with mobility, transfers and related equipment
• Performing nursing procedures such as taking temperature, pulse and respiration
• Housekeeping activities relating to maintaining a safe and healthy environment
• Observing and reporting changes in patient behavior and condition
• Accompanying clients on outings and during social activities
• Performing clerical duties and delegated tasks

This is a Relief Part Time (0.75) opportunity until the return of the incumbent.

Shifts of work will be scheduled days and nights rotating from 07:00 to 13:30, 15:00 to 21:00, 15:00 to 21:15, 15:00 to 21:30 and 23:00 to 05:15 hours.
