Job Description: Cardiology Technologist

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. Continuous improvement in quality and safety is inherent in this position.

Reporting to the Manager or designate, and as a member of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, the Cardiology Technologist performs various non-invasive cardiology procedures and routine equipment maintenance. Using a personal computer and related software, the technologist manages database functions, including editing electrocardiograms, storing and retrieving cardiac records, and performing related clerical duties.

Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience

• Certified by the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT);
• Graduate of a recognized diploma training program in Cardiology Technology;
• One (1) year recent, related experience;
• Eligible for membership with the Cardiology Technologist Association of British Columbia (CTABC);
• Basic Life Support Certificate (BLSC), Level C.

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
