Job Description: Cardiology Technologist

In accordance with the Vision, Purpose, and Values, and strategic direction of the Vancouver Island Health Authority (Island Health), patient and staff safety is a priority and a shared responsibility. The role involves continuous improvement of quality and safety in all aspects of the position.

Reporting to the Manager or designate, and as a member of a multidisciplinary health care team, the Cardiology Technologist performs a variety of non-invasive cardiology procedures and routine maintenance of equipment. Responsibilities include using a personal computer and related software to perform database functions, such as editing electrocardiograms, and managing the storage and retrieval of cardiac records.

Qualifications: Education, Training, and Experience

• Certified by the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologists (CSCT);
• Graduate of a recognized diploma training program in Cardiology Technology;
• One (1) year recent, related experience;
• Eligible for membership with the Cardiology Technologist Association of British Columbia (CTABC);
• Basic Life Support Certificate (BLSC), Level C.

An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be considered.
