Qualifications

  • Diploma in Cardiology Technology with 2 years of experience required.
  • Must have CSCT certification and be eligible for CTABC membership.

Position Summary
Are you someone who has a real passion for helping others? Are you a registered Cardiology Technologist looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to our Cardiac Testing-ECG/Holter department.

In accordance with established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, the Cardiology Technologist performs techniques relating to Electrocardiogram (ECG) testing, stress testing, Holter and event Recorders and pacemaker monitoring and other types of diagnostic cardiac equipment.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Monday to Friday, Days - 08:00 to 16:00

Qualifications

  1. Diploma in Cardiology Technology plus 2 years recent related experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
  2. Successful completion of the Canadian Society of Cardiology Technologist (CSCT) certification exam.
  3. Eligible for membership with the Cardiology Technologist Association of British Columbia (CTABC).

  1. Teaching: Ability to teach clients and others both one-on-one and in groups.
  2. Knowledge Integration: Integrates best practice and current research evidence to support professional practice decisions and actions.
  3. Communication: Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients, families, the public, medical staff and the members of the interdisciplinary team using oral, written, and computer communication means. Demonstrated ability to effectively resolve conflict.
  4. Critical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to integrate and evaluate pertinent data (from multiple sources) to problem-solve and make decisions effectively.
  5. Management: Demonstrated ability to organize work, set objectives and establish priorities.
  6. Leadership: Promotes staff morale, engagement, and risk-taking.
  7. Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to foster teamwork and a commitment to excellence in the provision of client care.
  8. Equipment: Demonstrated computer skills including the use of Meditech and Windows based programs.
  9. Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
