Job summary

Procor Limited in Canada is seeking a rail car welder for robust repair work, including welding and brake testing. The role runs 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with a fixed schedule and work outdoors in varying conditions.

The candidate should have bilingual French/English communication, experience in SMAW and FCAW, and a strong mechanical aptitude. A Class 3 driver’s license and safety-first mindset are required.

Qualifications

• French and English written and spoken.
• Experience in 4-position welding SMAW and FCAW.
• Knowledge of rail cars and aptitude for industrial mechanics.
• Comfortable working at heights, in tight spaces and in a noisy and dusty environment.
• Good physical condition; outdoor year-round work.
• Can work in a team or alone; proactive and safety‑conscious.

Responsibilities

• Duties include: rail car repair, brake testing, general repair, welding.

• Adhere to Procor’s procedures and safety/quality standards.

Job Summary

Duties include: rail car repair, brake testing, general repair, welding. But may change 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The schedule is normally fixed. The salary for this position is between $26.66 and $40.41 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.

Requirements

• French and English written and spoken
• Experience in 4-position welding SMAW and FCAW Knowledge of rail cars and aptitude for industrial mechanics.
• Comfortable working at heights, in tight spaces and in a noisy and dusty environment.
• Good physical condition since the work is demanding and outdoors at all times.
• Class 3 driver’s license and have a good sense of direction.
• Can work in a team as well as alone. Manual, resourceful and easy to take initiative.
• Good judgment and stress management. Dedicated to working safely and professionally. The candidate will have to follow Procor’s procedures as well as those of our customers. Safety and quality standards as well as responsible management.
• The candidate will be required to pass a medical examination and drug and alcohol test.
