Job summary

The Niagara Parks Commission is seeking a Financial Analyst, Capital and Fixed Assets to support the accounting and reporting of fixed assets and capital works in progress, collaborating with Engineering and Finance on asset capitalization and inventory management.

This role requires a post-secondary degree in accounting or finance and 1–3 years of analytical experience, with strong Excel and Power BI skills.

Qualifications

• Post secondary degree/diploma in accounting or finance.
• 1–3 years of analytical finance experience.
• Experience with capital construction processes and fixed assets is an asset.
• Understanding of internal control procedures and general ledger accounts.
• Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables and v-lookup.

Responsibilities

• Monthly and annual reconciliation of capital projects.
• Manage capital projects to keep spending within budgets with Engineering.
• Capitalize assets and ensure asset records are accurate.
• Maintain asset inventory lists and conduct annual asset audits.
• Generate monthly asset and depreciation reports.
• Support month-end close and asset accounting processes.
