Job summary

Altec is seeking an experienced accounting professional to own the Canadian month-end close, reporting, and cross-functional support for the Canadian business. The role combines hands-on execution with analysis and continuous improvement in a deadline-driven environment.

You will lead journal entries, reconciliations, intercompany reporting, and balance sheet management while supporting budgeting, forecasting, and regulatory reporting in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; CPA preferred.
• 6 years of industry experience or 4 years with two years in public accounting.
• Strong knowledge of US GAAP and internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Lead the monthly close process including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Prepare internal financial statements and margin/inventory analyses.
• Monitor cash positions and hedging, support cash management initiatives.
• Coordinate divisional budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
• Oversee accounting for new and used equipment, revenue, prebills, and warranties.
• Drive process improvements and ensure high‑risk transactions are reviewed.
