Job description

Amazon's Global Trade Services (GTS) team is seeking a Canada Business Trade Strategy Manager to serve as a strategic partner to Canadian business stakeholders. This is a partner role — not a sales role — focused on embedding with business teams to understand their trade challenges, cross-border needs, and supply chain structures, and working alongside them to identify opportunities, remove friction, and build more resilient ways of operating.

You will work at the intersection of strategy, analytics, and execution — translating data and customer insights into tangible business outcomes. You will shape how Amazon goes to market in Canada, deepen relationships with strategic customers and partners, and build the engagement frameworks that unlock long-term growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively engage with stakeholders to understand their import/export needs, supply chain structures, and business objectives — translating these into clear, prioritized action plans.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to streamline cross-border processes, reduce cost, improve compliance, and eliminate unnecessary operational complexity.
  • Advise stakeholders on duty mitigation strategies, trade agreement utilization, and sourcing alternatives.
  • Translate developments in Canadian trade policy, tariff regulations, and cross-border requirements into specific, timely recommendations tailored to each stakeholder's business.
  • Lead strategic initiatives end-to-end: from problem definition and stakeholder alignment through to execution and measurable outcomes.
  • Develop business cases, strategic recommendations, and executive briefings that enable stakeholders to make informed, confident decisions under uncertainty.
  • Partner with internal teams — including trade compliance, logistics, finance, and legal — to ensure recommendations are grounded in operational reality.
  • Drive structured, high-value stakeholder engagement through well-prepared business reviews focused on outcomes delivered.
Basic Requirements
  • 6+ years of compliance, audit, or risk management experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office products and applications at an advanced level

Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent certification
  • Experience leveraging technology and implementing lean principles / Six Sigma methodologies to drive process improvements
  • Master's degree or equivalent
