Automation Tech Job Description
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on equipment.
  • Create, update, and backup automation programs, including PLC, servo drives, HMIs, and robots.
  • Connect to PLCs, servo drives, VFDs, and robot controllers to diagnose failures.
  • Install and set up vision system components such as barcode scanners and inspection cameras.
  • Update electrical drawings following modifications.
  • Participate in new program launches and implement necessary automation changes.
  • Support troubleshooting and repair of automation failures with maintenance personnel.
  • Use schematics and drawings to troubleshoot and repair issues.
  • Participate in automation training sessions as needed.
  • Adhere to Dana’s health, safety, and quality policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with production supervision to resolve downtime issues.
  • Escalate automation concerns to the Maintenance Manager when necessary.
  • Perform tasks on assigned shifts and participate in overtime when required.
