Position Summary...

The Pharmacy Assistant assists the Pharmacist in the technical aspects of prescription filling and administrative duties to support the delivery of patient care. They participate in all pharmacy operations, serving as a key member of the team to provide excellent customer service.

What you'll do...

1. Receive prescriptions from patients, ensuring completeness and compliance with provincial regulations, including details like name, address, DOB, allergies, and prescriber information.
2. Perform computer functions such as data entry, price checks, and updating patient profiles, interpreting prescriptions accurately.
3. Fill prescriptions under pharmacist supervision, including product selection, accuracy checks, labeling, and organizing for pharmacist review.
4. Maintain inventory control by managing stock levels, checking for expired medications, and processing returns and orders.
5. Ensure the dispensary is clean, organized, and safe, including stocking supplies and maintaining equipment.
6. Organize clerical tasks such as filing prescriptions, invoices, reports, and administrative support functions.
7. Assist with OTC operations, including ordering, stocking, and cashier duties as assigned.
