Job summary

Walmart Canada in Calgary, AB is seeking a friendly cashier to greet customers, process purchases, and promote services. You will assist with bagging and loading, and help maintain a safe and tidy store.

The role emphasizes accurate cash handling, attention to loss prevention, and providing a positive shopping experience to build customer loyalty. Training on self-checkout and programs will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Greets all customers in a polite and friendly manner.
• Processes all purchase transactions in a timely and efficient manner, including deactivation of merchandise with respect to the EAS Program.
• Promotes company sponsor programs, ie. Credit card service, product protection and charity initiatives.
• Assists customers with bagging and loading of merchandise.
• Ensures safe work practices are followed including proper lifting and keeping a clean work area.
• Maintains register security and integrity through diligent cash handling, adherence to relevant company policies and awareness of surroundings.
• Refers appropriate service and transactional items to a Customer Service Manager or Front End Team Lead.
• Educating and supporting customers on the correct and efficient use of self-checkout options.
