Position Summary
To support the Store Manager and manage store operations according to Company guidelines, leading Associates to ensure friendly, helpful service and drive profitable store sales.
What You'll Do
- Drive profitable sales: As a member of the Store Management Team, achieve sales and profit goals, manage budgets, and create sales forecasts. Analyze sales/financial reports, economic trends, and community needs to respond to market changes while controlling expenditures. Communicate sales results to associates and guide interpretation of results.
- Operational planning: Collaborate with the Management Team to create operational plans, prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and provide clear direction to Managers and Associates. Ensure optimal store conditions through effective merchandise presentation, accurate pricing, and adherence to store standards within Company policies. Implement and evaluate new store programs, especially in specific areas such as Front End, Back End, Fresh, or Operations. Cross-train Assistant Managers to work proficiently in all store areas.
- Asset protection and safety: Monitor asset protection and safety controls, maintain quality assurance standards, oversee safety reviews, and ensure compliance with policies and procedures. Proactively address compliance issues, including total loss and general controls.
- Customer service: Serve as an ambassador by greeting customers, seeking feedback, and resolving issues within Company guidelines to create a positive shopping experience. Model and enforce friendly and helpful customer service techniques.
- Community involvement: Support store initiatives for community service by participating in events and building relationships with community groups. Engage in company-sponsored programs and sustainability efforts.
- Team leadership and development: Lead Associates through regular meetings, communicate operational initiatives, drive engagement, recognize accomplishments, and provide professional growth opportunities. Identify high-potential employees and support their development.
- Performance management: Uphold Company values by providing timely and respectful feedback, and take corrective actions when necessary. Build relationships with supporting functions like HR.
- Compliance and merchandise handling: Handle merchandise in accordance with standards, including sensitive items like alcohol, ammunition, and narcotics. Manage cash controls effectively, handling up to $250,000 daily.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be 16 years or older.
