Job summary

Walmart Canada in Burlington, ON is seeking a Deli Bakery Associate to deliver exemplary customer service while maintaining and zoning the Deli/Bakery areas. You will assist with stocking and selling goods and ensure the department is well-organized and correctly labeled for customers.

The role requires adherence to safety and food-handling standards, rotation of stock, proper pricing, and accuracy in order preparation.

Responsibilities

• Zone the department to ensure product shelves, tables and bunkers are organized and products are in the correct location.
• Rotate stock and check for expired products.
• Ensure merchandise is properly signed and priced.
• Adhere to standards and policies for cold chain, thermometer calibration, temperature recording, food handling, and sell-by dates.
• Take orders for Deli Department merchandise; prepare hot food merchandise and assist customers.
• Prepare deli foods using utensils; roast chicken and fill side dishes for display.
• Prepare bakery items following thawing and baking guidelines for quality and appearance.
• Follow procedures for ordering, clearance, markups/markdowns, signing/pricing/labels.

Position Summary...A Deli Bakery Associate provides exemplary customer service by adhering to the basic beliefs and values of Walmart, maintains and zones the Bakery and/or Deli area, and assists with stocking and the sale of goods.What you'll do...1. Zones the department to ensure product shelves, tables and bunkers are organization and product is in the correct location2. Rotates stock and checks for expired products.3. Takes orders for Deli Department merchandise; preparing hot food merchandise and providing requested assistance.6. Prepares deli food orders utilizing utensils; preparing chicken by using rotisserie oven; and fill prepared side dishes for placement into display area.7. Prepares bakery merchandise by accurately following thawing and baking guidelines to ensure the quality and visual appearance of Bakery Department merchandise, such as bread, cakes, pies, cookies, and rolls.8.
