Position Summary...
To support the Store Manager and manage store operations according to Company guidelines and lead Associates to ensure friendly, helpful service and drive profitable store sales.
What you'll do...
- Drive profitable sales: As a member of the Store Management Team, achieve sales and profit goals, manage budgets, and develop sales forecasts. Analyze sales/financial reports, economic trends, and community needs to adapt to market changes while controlling expenditures. Communicate sales results to associates and interpret results effectively.
- Operational management: Collaborate with the Management Team to create operational plans, prioritize tasks, delegate responsibilities, and provide clear direction to Managers and Associates. Maintain optimal store conditions through effective merchandise presentation, accurate pricing, and adherence to store standards and policies. Implement and evaluate new store programs, ensuring they meet desired outcomes. Cross-train as needed to work proficiently in all store areas.
- Asset protection and safety: Execute and monitor asset protection and safety controls. Maintain quality assurance standards, oversee safety reviews, and ensure compliance with Walmart policies and safety procedures. Address compliance issues proactively, including total loss controls.
- Customer service: Serve as a store ambassador by greeting customers, seeking feedback, and resolving issues within company guidelines to ensure a positive shopping experience. Model and enforce friendly, helpful customer service techniques among associates.
- Community involvement: Support store initiatives to serve the community by participating in events and building relationships with community groups. Engage in company-sponsored programs and sustainability efforts to reinforce the store's role in the community.
- Leadership and development: Conduct regular store meetings, communicate operational initiatives, and drive engagement. Recognize achievements and provide growth opportunities. Develop associates and identify high-potential employees for training and advancement.
- Performance management: Demonstrate company values by providing timely and respectful performance feedback. Manage relationships with supporting functions like HR within the store and district.
- Compliance and merchandise handling: Ensure compliance with standards and procedures when handling merchandise, including sensitive items like alcohol, ammunition, narcotics, and high-ticket items. Maintain appropriate cash controls, managing up to $250,000 daily.
