Job summary

Paladin Security in Brooks, Alberta is seeking a dependable Security Guard for a full-time, Monday–Friday evening shift from 4:00 PM to 10:00 PM on-site. The role includes patrolling, assisting visitors and staff, and responding to incidents to ensure a safe environment at the MHC Brooks Campus.

Required: High School Diploma or GED and Alberta Security License (or ability to obtain). Strong English communication and excellent customer service are essential; ability to work independently with

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Valid Alberta Security License or ability to obtain one before starting.
• Ability to walk long distances (up to 18–20 km per shift) and climb stairs.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills.
• Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in emergency situations.
• Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the property on foot to maintain a safe and secure environment.
• Provide outstanding customer service and assist visitors, staff, and clients.
• Respond to alarms, emergencies, and medical incidents.
• De-escalate conflicts professionally and calmly.
• Coordinate with police, fire, and EMS when necessary.
• Complete detailed incident reports and daily activity logs.
• Monitor site activity and enforce safety policies.
• Operate communication equipment, including radios and mobile applications.
• Provide basic first aid when required.
• Assist with lost-and-found inquiries and general site support.

Preferred Qualifications

• Class 5 Alberta Driver's License.
