Job summary

Cumming Group in Oakland, CA is seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead complex capital improvement and campus modernization projects within a university setting.

You will oversee planning through closeout, managing budgets, schedules, consultants, contractors, and stakeholder coordination while ensuring compliance with DSA requirements and public sector standards. The ideal candidate has 8+ years of PM/engineering/construction experience and credentials such as CCM, PMP, PE, AIA, or LEED.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Project Management, engineering, or construction management
• Experience supporting K-12 schools or community college projects is mentioned in related contexts, and DSA (Division of State Architects) knowledge is required
• Preferred certifications include CCM, PMP, PE, AIA, LEED

Responsibilities

• Lead a project team, large project or multiple projects or a program
• Define technical scope of project
• Promote repeat business through effective coordination and communication
• Review cost estimates
• Manage project level conflict resolution
• Maintain monthly project budgets for current and forecasted expenditures
• Facilitate client communications and provide regular reports
• Achieve client objectives by managing project goals
• Attend work during normal business hours
