Job summary

Nova Scotia Community College is seeking an Operational Support Facilities Support Assistant (FS4) at Strait Area Campus, Port Hawkesbury, NS. The role is full-time with an hourly rate of $20.88 to $21.68 for 2025/2026 pools.

The successful candidate will provide maintenance and custodial services, perform cleaning duties with emphasis on energy and sustainability, and handle painting and room setups. Flex hours will apply as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; candidates who do not possess a diploma may be considered.
• WHMIS and Occupational Health and Safety training would be assets; First Aid/ CPR and NS driver's license are assets.
• Minimum of one year experience as a cleaner including waxing and polishing machines and automatic scrubbers.
• Custodial/maintenance experience in post-secondary or commercial settings is an asset.
• Familiar with Microsoft Office and Megamation; able to follow oral and written instructions.

• Provide maintenance and custodial service promoting a safe, welcoming campus reflecting standards of excellence.
• Perform routine and special cleaning duties with a focus on energy and sustainability.
• Perform routine painting and room rental setups.
• Hours of work will vary as required.
