Job summary

University of Ottawa seeks an Electrotechnician to install, maintain and repair electrical equipment on the Main Campus. You will support the Electrical Manager and ensure reliable, safe operation for students, staff and researchers.

Ideal candidates hold a college diploma in electrical field with related experience, and possess strong communication and customer service skills in a unionized environment. A valid driver's license is expected.

Qualifications

College diploma in electrical field.
Ontario electrical license would be an asset.
CFAA certification would be an asset.
Experience with service management software, Excel and Word.
Knowledge of applicable codes and safety acts.
Valid driver's license.
Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Perform duties permitted by the electrical technician trade while following laws and codes.
Respond to electrical maintenance requests via the Call Center.
Analyze and propose corrective measures to maximize safe operation.
Identify causes of breakdowns in complex systems and equipment.
Communicate with customers to inform and ensure satisfaction.
