Job summary

Aramark is hiring entry-level Assistant Managers to join the Food Court team on Carleton University campus in Ottawa, Ontario. You will help oversee daily operations and lead the ground team under the Manager on duty.

The role offers full-time hours, health benefits, training opportunities, and a focus on safe, inclusive workplaces. The hourly wage ranges from $20.50 to $23.00, with potential for growth and advancement within the company.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Hospitality Management/ Food and Beverage Management or equivalent work experience.
• Supervisory experience required.
• Experience in a unionized setting an asset.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Effective communication skills.
• Strong organization skills.
• Some physical work required; must be able to lift up to 30lbs.
• Flexible Schedule Required – may involve some evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations with assistance from the Manager on duty and in conjunction with the culinary team.
• Ensure compliance of all Aramark operating standards and legislated standards including company policy and procedure, Health and Safety standards, and Safe Food Handling.
• Assign daily tasks to the team and assist with scheduling.
• Provide HR support such as performance evaluations and progressive discipline.
• Recruit and train staff in compliance with Aramark requirements.
• Develop and motivate staff to attain proper standards of performance.
• Ensure quality, courteous service and resolve customer complaints.
• Collaborate with Marketing to launch promotions and initiatives.
• Participate in inventory controls and revenue recording.
• Maintain cash handling and cash auditing procedures.
