Job summary

Bass Pro Shops is seeking a Retail Camping Associate to join our Ottawa team. You will work with a supportive team to deliver legendary customer service and share expert knowledge of outdoor products with every guest.

Responsibilities include helping customers select the right gear, promoting promotions, maintaining store presentation, and resolving issues with sound judgment. Prior sales or service experience is preferred; high school diploma or equivalent is expected.

Qualifications

• One or more years’ experience in a sales or service environment preferred.
• Ability to evaluate customers’ needs and make recommendations.
• Ability to provide superior customer service and exceed expectations.
• Knowledge of outdoor lifestyle products is an asset.

Job description

Summary:

Reporting to the Retail Manager - Hunting and Camping - Canada, a Retail Camping Associate will work within a team to create a world class shopping experience by providing legendary customer service and exceptional product knowledge to every customer.

Responsibilities:

• Provide legendary customer service by assisting customers in making buying decisions by identifying and evaluating customers’ needs, and making product recommendations based off of this analysis
• Promote various company programs and promotions
• Maintain visual presentation standards including in-store signage, merchandise recovering/front facing, restocking, remerchandising, dusting, and vacuuming sales floor as needed
• Respond to and resolve customer issues by using good judgment and logic in solving problems and making decisions within the job scope
• Assist in other areas of the store when business needs dictate
• Demonstrate a passion for the outdoors by maintaining knowledge of trends and emerging technologies that relate to the outdoor lifestyle
• Assist in other areas of the store when business needs dictate

Qualifications:

• One or more years’ experience in a sales or service environment is preferred

Starting Pay Rate: $17.60 - $20.25
