Job summary

Camp Quest in Canada is seeking a Head Counsellor who works closely with the Camp Coordinator to support the counsellor team and keep camp running smoothly. You’ll be a point of contact for counsellors needing help with behaviour challenges, parent communication, activity transitions, or daily logistics.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leadership, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is passionate about helping kids have a memorable, meaningful summer.

Qualifications

• Energetic, reliable, and excited about working with children.
• Experience in camps, childcare, or leadership roles is an asset.
• Standard First aid & CPR.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Flexible and able to adapt to fast-paced, changing environments.
• Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check. (18+)

Responsibilities

• Support the counsellor team throughout the summer.
• Help ensure programming is running smoothly.
• Assist with behaviour management.
• Communicate with parents when needed, with professionalism and care.
• Ensure camper safety and uphold Camp Quest policies and standards.
• Help create a positive, inclusive environment for staff and campers.
• Pitch in with camp-wide tasks such as preparing materials, organizing equipment, or supporting activities.
