Job summary

Dexterra Group is seeking a Baker to produce all bakery items for the bagged lunch program and daily menu service in a remote camp setting. The Baker, with culinary leadership, will manage production planning and quality standards to meet contract scope.

The role offers a remote camp lifestyle with meals and accommodations provided. Wages start at $22.48 per hour, with a 2 weeks on/2 weeks off rotation, and travel to site from designated locations in Canada.

Qualifications

• Must have current Food Safe certificate.
• Large scale camp cooking experience required.
• Red Seal or other certification is an asset.
• Experience in accurately producing weekly inventories.
• High standards in maintaining a clean and organized Kitchen.
• Self-starter capable of working in fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
• Must have valid government issued photo ID for travel to site.
• Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check.

Responsibilities

• Produce and plate cakes, pies and other items for menu service.
• Prepare doughs and other preparations as directed.
• Follow food safety requirements and HACCP/ Production logs.
• Label and date all products for service.
• Stock and maintain bakery service area.
• Clean equipment and work area at end of shift.
• Receive and store all supplies (food, beverage, chemical and disposables).
