Camosun College invites applications for casual/on-call welding instructors in the School of Trades, Industry and Professional Studies. The successful applicant will teach a range of welding disciplines, commit to student-focused learning, and support program outcomes.

Applicants must hold relevant Red Seal credentials, teaching certification, and be available for day shifts on a flexible schedule. Experience in shop fabrication and ISA/CSA standards is valued.

Qualifications

  • Certificate/qualification with Red Seal endorsement and teaching credentials.
  • Experience teaching welding and related leadership roles.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and standard software.

Responsibilities

  • Teach all types/levels of welding in a college setting.
  • Cover day shift from 8am to 3pm when assigned.
  • Maintain safety, scheduling, and student outcomes in class.

Job Description Additional Information

TheWelding Departmentis seeking qualified applications forcasual/on-callteaching opportunities withinThe School of Trades, Industry and Professional Studiesat Camosun College. A successful applicant will have the energy, commitment and motivation required to teach all types and levels of welding and must be available to teach our day shift (8am – 3pm). Diverse industry experience including code work such as shop fabrication, heavy construction and maintenance/repair ( ASME or CSA W59). Experience must include Oxy-Acetylene cutting and welding, SMAW , GMAW , GTAW , plasma cutting and weld fitting. Knowledge of welding machine and related metal cutting and forming equipment operation is also necessary for this position.

Qualifications
  • Certificate of Qualification with Interprovincial Red Seal endorsement
  • BC PWP7 and PWP10 pressure tickets,
  • Computer literacy, including a working knowledge of MS Office products including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
  • Teaching experience and a minimum of one year coaching, mentoring, supervisory or other leadership experience.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered
  • British Columbia “A” Level welder certificate
  • BC Instructors Diploma or equivalent teaching certificate
  • BC Class A Pressure Welder Certificate of Qualification
  • CSA W178.2 Level 2 or Level 3 Welding Inspector Certification with ASME section VIII /IX endorsement, or a current Welding Examiner Certificate of Competency issued by ABSA
