Job summary

Petroglyph Development Group in Richmond, BC, is seeking a Casino Cashier under the supervision of Slots & Cage management to deliver friendly customer service, manage cash transactions, and maintain accurate cash counts in a safe environment.

The role requires flexibility to work evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays; prior cash-handling experience and Serving It Right certification are preferred, with opportunities to obtain a Gaming License as needed.

Qualifications

• One year of high-volume cash handling experience.
• Serving It Right Certification required.
• Ability to obtain Gaming License.
• Proficient in MS Office and basic computer literacy.
• Secondary language is an asset.
• Flexible schedule including evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Handle cash transactions including foreign currency, travellers cheques, and cash counts.
• Monitor discrepancies and report suspicious cash activities.
• Redeem value chips and gaming tickets for cash.
• Sell racing tickets, vouchers, racing programs and value chips.
• Verify machine fills, jackpots, cancelled credits, and table fills.
• Issue opening floats and reconcile closing floats.
• Transfer and store floats, keys and records.
• Document and reconcile transactions; may reconcile deposits and revenue reports.
• Communicate with operational departments.
• Build relationships with guests and team members.
• Ensure compliance with licensing, health & safety, and regulations.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

Under the direct supervision of the Manager, Slots & Cage or the Supervisor, Cage, this position is responsible for customer service, cash administration and cash counts while contributing to a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members. Ensures adherence to the Company's policies and procedures, motivates and leads by example and supports the company's learning environment while establishing a safe and welcoming work environment for all team members.

Key Accountabilities

• Handles cash transactions including but not limited to foreign currency exchange, travelers cheques, short pays, over payments, cash counts, coins and bills
• Monitors and reports all discrepancies and suspicious cash activities
• Redeems value chips and gaming tickets for cash
• Sells racing tickets, vouchers, racing programs and value chips as required
• Verifies and processes machine fills, ma chine jackpots, cancelled credits, as well as table fills and credits
• Issues opening floats to Slot Attendants (or others); reconciles closing floats
• Transfers and stores floats, keys and record keeping documents
• Documents and reconciles transactions; may reconcile bank deposits and prepare revenue reports
• Communicates effectively with all appropriate operational departments
• Builds strong working relationships with guests and team members
• Ensures complies with licensing laws, health and safety and other statutory regulations
• Performs other duties as assigned or directed.

Education and Qualifications

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays
• 1 year high volume cash handling experience
• Serving it Right Certification
• Ability to exceed internal and external customer expectations through timely, effective and service oriented communication
• Computer literacy in MS Office
• Secondary language an asset
• Ability to successfully obtain a Gaming License
