The University of Guelph, within the Food Operations division, is hiring two Limited full-time Cafeteria Helper positions. The 8-month continuing appointment runs from September to April each year, with May to August as an off-work period.

Reporting to the Head Cafeteria Helper, you will set up counters, serve food, restock, communicate with customers, maintain cleanliness, and perform other duties as assigned.

Formación

• Some formal education and food preparation/service experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to lift heavy objects and stand for prolonged periods of time.
• WHMIS training, food handlers certificate preferred.
• Candidates must be willing to work a flexible shift schedule.

Responsabilidades

• Set up food counters in accordance with departmental specifications.
• Serve hot and/or cold foods using appropriate utensils in accordance with prescribed portions and serving techniques.
• Restock counter as required.
• Communicate effectively with customers.
• Maintain a clean and orderly counter at all times.
• Put away left over stock, cleaning various food service equipment.
• Maintain general cleanliness of dining room and other duties as assigned.
