Parthenon Market is seeking a dedicated and experienced Café Manager to lead our vibrant café and deli operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising staff, ensuring food quality and service excellence, maintaining cleanliness, and supporting the business’s daily operations.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in food service sector or café/restaurant management
  • A certificate in hospitality or food and beverage service management is required; equivalent work experience with other relevant certifications may be considered as a substitute
  • Serve It Right BC Certificate – required or willing to obtain
  • WHMIS Certification – preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for managing schedules, inventory, and cost tracking
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Working knowledge of POS systems and staff scheduling tools
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and statutory holidays
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Passion for food, people, and delivering exceptional customer experiences

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily operations of the café and deli
  • Handle staff scheduling, performance, and shift coordination
  • Ensure high standards of customer service and resolve complaints promptly
  • Monitor inventory and place food and beverage orders
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation in all food prep and service areas
  • Assist with menu planning and promotion of café items
  • Monitor sales, assist in budgeting, and manage costs effectively
  • Collaborate with owners and kitchen staff for smooth service flow
