Job summary

Dear Grain Toronto is seeking a Café Cook for the Summerhill location, opening Oct 1. Training begins in early September. You will prepare sandwiches, bake sourdough pastries, and maintain kitchen safety and cleanliness in a fast-paced bakery environment.

We value detail-oriented team players with strong communication who can handle high-volume production and follow recipes. This full-time role offers growth and learning opportunities within a vibrant bakery team.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food preparation or sandwich making is preferred but not required
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes
• Minimum of 1 year of continuous employment in a high volume production kitchen/food business
• Minimum 1 year experience in Culinary education in a recognized College/University
• Possess basic cooking and knife handling skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken

Responsibilities

• Prepare and assemble sandwiches and pizza according to menu specifications
• Proof and bake sourdough croissants using recipe instructions.
• Bake cookies, scones, brownies etc. Glazing and garnishing baked goods, using recipe instructions.
• Slice, chop, and prepare ingredients for menu items
• Ensure food safety and sanitation standards are followed
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area
• Assist with inventory management and restocking supplies
• Prepare Daily Specials
• Practice food safety and sanitation standards
• Reports to Kitchen Leader

We're looking for passionate cooks and bakers to join the team at our new Dear Grain Summerhill location, opening October 1st!

We're hiring team members who can begin training in early September and help us build and launch this exciting new store.

Dear Grain Toronto is an Everything Sourdough Bakery that specializes in artisanal products - sourdough bread, pastries & sandwiches. Pay & Schedule:

Pay: $18.00 to $19 per hour

Full Time role

Schedule: 5 days a week

Monday-Sunday Week Shift: 7:00AM to 3:00PM (During week days) & 6:30AM to 2:30PM (During week end)
