SYSTRA Canada seeks a Cable Containment Civil Specialist to join the new LRT Project in Ontario. You will lead the design and delivery of cable containment systems, collaborating with Traction Power, Signaling, Civil/Structural, Trackwork, Stations, and Utilities to ensure integrated solutions.

We value 5–10 years of cable containment experience, Civil3D proficiency, and knowledge of Ontario building codes.

Qualifications

• 5–10 years experience in cable containment design.
• 2+ years in Canadian Transit environment.
• Active modeling experience with Civil3D.
• Knowledge of Ontario building codes.
• Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop and check cable containment design and delivery.
• Lead checker of the cable containment drawings and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with CSA, OESC and project requirements.
• Review shop drawings, material approvals, methods, and RFIs.
• Attend project meetings and provide technical expertise.
• Identify risks and propose mitigations.
• Maintain project records and provide technical support during construction.

Context

Systra is looking for Cable Containment Civil Specialist to join the new LRT Project in Ontario.

Missions/Main Duties

• developing and checking of the cable containment design and delivery.
• Supporting interfaces with Traction Power, Signaling, Communications, Civil/Structural, Trackwork, Stations/Architectural, and Utilities, ensuring physical and functional integration.
• Support the management of System Interfaces
• Be the Lead checker of the cable containment designs, drawings, and specifications.
• Ensure compliance with relevant standards, codes, and project requirements (CSA, OESC).
• Review contractor submissions including shop drawings, material approvals, method statements, and RFIs, providing timely technical responses and design clarifications.
• Attend project meetings and provide technical expertise.
• Participate in design reviews and hazard/interface workshops, providing containment input to support safe, buildable, and maintainable solutions.
• Identify risks and propose mitigation strategies.
• Maintain project records and ensure proper documentation.
• Provide technical support during construction and commissioning.
• Stay updated with latest communication technologies and best practices.
• Promote process improvements and innovation within the team.

Profile/Skills

• 5-10 Years Experience in cable containment design, with 2+ Years experience in Canadian Transit environment.
• Active modeling Experience with Civil3D
• Working knowledge of relevant building codes in Ontario
• Can work collaboratively with the Intermediate and junior Engineers/Specialists, and other disciplines.
• Metrolinx experience an asset.
