Job summary

Dream House Kitchens & Interiors is seeking a skilled cabinetmaker to join our Duncan, BC team. You will operate woodworking machines, shape surfaces, read plans, and assemble components to produce finished cabinetry on site.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of cabinetmaking experience, strong attention to detail, and excellent communication skills. This full-time role offers on-site work in Duncan with benefits and a collaborative shop environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of cabinetmaking or woodworking experience.
• Ability to read plans, specifications or drawings.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate woodworking machines to cut, shape and form parts.
• Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces with hand tools.
• Study plans and drawings to guide production.
• Trim joints and assemble subassemblies into complete units.
• Sand surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish as required.
• Maintain a safe, organized and efficient work area.

Tasks

• Operate woodworking machines, such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers, to cut, shape and form parts and components
• Shape surfaces or edges of wood workpieces, using hand tools, such as planes, chisels, or wood files.
• Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made
• Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies together to form complete unit and reinforce joints
• Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish to finished products; prepare and apply laminated plastics
• Maintain clean and safe work environment
