Job summary

GNB Contracting seeks an experienced woodworker to operate a range of woodworking machines and follow detailed plans at our Toronto location. You will study plans, trim joints, sand surfaces, and apply finishes to wood and laminated plastics.

Cost estimates and material lists are part of the duties, along with occasional repair or restyling of furniture and fixtures. The ideal candidate has 1–2 years of related experience, good plan-reading skills, and a strong eye for detail to ensure

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 1–2 years of woodworking or carpentry experience preferred.
• Ability to read plans and drawings.
• On-site work in Toronto, Canada is required.

• Operate woodworking machines such as power saws, jointers, mortisers and shapers to cut, shape and form parts and components.
• Study plans, specifications or drawings of articles to be made.
• Trim joints and fit parts and subassemblies to form complete units and reinforce joints.
• Sand wooden surfaces and apply veneer, stain or polish; prepare laminated plastics.
• Estimate costs and materials.
• Repair or restyle wooden furniture, fixtures and related products.
