Job summary

ALTEN Canada is seeking a seasoned C&Q scheduler to manage commissioning and qualification activities for critical projects in the GMP environment. You will coordinate with engineering, quality, validation, and project stakeholders to align activities and resources in a fast-paced setting.

The role requires 5+ years in pharmaceutical/biotech GMP environments, strong scheduling skills, and a collaborative approach. Toronto area with on-site work and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience coordinating, planning, scheduling or managing C&Q, validation, or related projects in GMP environments.
• Strong understanding of C&Q lifecycle activities (IQ, OQ, PQ) and project execution phases.
• Proven ability to manage schedules, identify risks, and communicate with technical and business stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and manage the overall C&Q schedule for the project, ensuring activities are planned and executed on time.
• Coordinate daily with C&Q, engineering, quality, validation and stakeholders to align upcoming activities and resource needs.
• Monitor execution of C&Q activities and ensure progress aligns with scope, schedule, and objectives.
• Identify schedule conflicts and risks; drive resolution plans to minimize impact on milestones.
• Serve as escalation point for C&Q issues; track progress and report to leadership.

Job Description:

• Develop, maintain, and manage the overall C&Q schedule for the project, ensuring all activities are planned, prioritized, and executed according to project timelines.
• Coordinate daily with the C&Q team, engineering, quality, validation, and project stakeholders to align upcoming activities, resource requirements, and project deliverables.
• Monitor the execution of C&Q activities and provide oversight to ensure work is progressing according to approved scope, schedule, and project objectives.
• Identify schedule conflicts, execution challenges, and project risks, and proactively drive resolution plans to minimize impact on project milestones.
• Serve as the primary escalation point for C&Q-related issues, facilitating timely decision-making and engaging the appropriate stakeholders when required.
• Track project progress, maintain status reports, and communicate schedule performance, risks, and key updates to the project leadership team.
• Ensure C&Q activities are completed in accordance with GMP requirements, commissioning and qualification principles, and established project procedures, while not directly performing execution work.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or other regulated GMP manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrated experience coordinating, planning, scheduling, or managing Commissioning & Qualification (C&Q), Validation, Capital Projects, or Engineering projects.
• Strong understanding of C&Q lifecycle activities, including commissioning, IQ, OQ, PQ, and associated project execution phases.
• Proven ability to manage project schedules, resolve issues, assess risks, coordinate cross-functional teams, and communicate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

In accordance with our compensation practices, ALTEN is providing the salary range associated with this opportunity. Final compensation will be determined after considering several factors, including professional experience, skill set, educational background, certifications, and geographic market conditions. The current target salary range for this role is $90,000 – $105,000 per year.
