Job summary

Hitachi Energy in Canada seeks a Buyer Intern for Field Services and Spare Parts. This 12-month internship offers hands-on procurement experience and exposure to logistics within a global energy leader.

Location is Stoney Creek, Ontario, with on-site work and a September 7, 2026 start date. As part of the Service division, you will support PO tracking, supplier coordination, PO closure, and continuous improvement initiatives while developing professional procurement skills in a collaborative

Qualifications

• Education in procurement, logistics, management, or a related field.
• Knowledge of SAP software is an asset.
• Proficiency in Excel and Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Track Purchase Orders: Support the buyer with tracking creation and order acknowledgement of purchase order.
• Supplier Coordination: Follow up on delivery confirmations and ensure compliance.
• Open Purchase Order Management: Lead coordinating the team to ensure open PO’s are being closed in a timely manner. Clearing backlog of Purchase orders.
• Continuous Improvement: Promote and implement continuous improvement of procedures and processes.
• Supplier Relations: Ensure Vendors and supplier accounts are in good standing. Payment is made on time working with vendors as well as requisitioners.
• Problem Resolution: Help resolve supplier quality issues and support the SCM function in negotiating pricing.
