Job summary

Elby Professional Recruitment is partnering with a growing Canadian employer to hire a driven Senior Buyer who will own supplier relationships and procurement strategy in a multi-SKU agricultural environment.

You will leverage data, monitor inventory, coordinate imports, and negotiate terms while working with ERP and BI tools like Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and Power BI; standard hours are 8:00–4:30, with a competitive benefits package aimed at attracting and retaining top talent.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of purchasing, sourcing, supplier management, contracts, and inventory planning in complex, multi-SKU environments.
• Familiarity with customs processes is highly advantageous.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Business Central and Power BI.
• Self-motivated, collaborative professional with strong interpersonal skills, a proactive approach, and the ability to take ownership and initiative.
• Analytical and curious mindset, with strong problem-solving skills and a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Manage supplier relationships and product categories within an agricultural sourcing environment.
• Coordinate product preparation and related supplier services as required.
• Monitor inventory requirements, quantities, and delivery timelines to support business needs.
• Coordinate import documentation and customs requirements for internationally sourced products.
• Forecast future purchasing requirements and proactively plan procurement activities.
• Negotiate pricing and commercial terms with suppliers while maintaining strong working relationships.
• Use ERP and business intelligence tools to analyze purchasing data and identify requirements.
• Prepare and maintain accurate purchase orders and validate supplier pricing and invoicing details.
