Buyer

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Buyer to join our procurement team. The Buyer will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, components, and services essential to our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, supply chain management, and possess exceptional negotiation and communication skills.

The Successful Candidate's Responsibilities Will Include

  • Source and evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, delivery capabilities, and past performance.
  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements with suppliers to secure the best possible outcomes.
  • Prepare and issue purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of materials to meet production schedules.
  • Manage supplier relationships, monitor supplier performance, and resolve any issues or discrepancies.
  • Collaborate with production, engineering, and quality control teams to understand material requirements and specifications.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, including supplier information, contracts, and purchase orders.
  • Monitor inventory levels and work to optimize inventory management to minimize carrying costs and prevent shortages.
  • Stay up-to-date with market trends, supplier developments, and new technologies related to procurement.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
  • Participate in supplier audits and evaluations.
  • Manage and track supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Work with suppliers to resolve quality issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Support new product development by sourcing and qualifying new suppliers and materials.

The Ideal Candidate For This Position Will Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not necessary
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience as a Buyer in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and components.
  • Proven ability to source, negotiate, and manage supplier contracts.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in using ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Knowledge of quality control principles and inventory management practices.
