Job summary

S&C Electric Canada is seeking a Procurement Specialist to join the team onsite in Ontario. You will manage material purchases for production lines, evaluate supplier performance, and collaborate with production and Global Sourcing to ensure timely, cost‑effective procurement.

The role requires 2–3+ years in purchasing, strong negotiation and analytical skills, and proficiency with supplier-management platforms and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Business, Operations or Supply Chain Management, or related field.
• 2–3+ years of experience in purchasing or related role in manufacturing.
• Understanding of procurement processes including requisitioning, purchasing, and supplier management.
• Knowledge of supply-chain principles such as inventory management, demand forecasting, and logistics.
• Familiarity with regulations, compliance standards, and ethical sourcing practices.
• Negotiation skills to pursue beneficial outcomes with suppliers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration.
• Organizational and multitasking abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work with stakeholders and independently.
• Attention to detail and data-driven decision making.

• Serve as primary contact with suppliers addressing timing and quality issues.
• Coordinate with Global Sourcing to identify new suppliers and set up purchases.
• Analyze scheduling data and supplier info to track savings, deadlines, and inventory reductions; report issues to leadership.
• Develop plans to reduce inventory levels while meeting production demands.
• Participate in A3 problem‑solving activities as needed.
• Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes affecting material availability or cost.

The estimated annual base salary range for this position is $66,099 – $87,578.26. Individual pay within this range is determined by performance, knowledge, job‑related skills and experience, and education. This role may also receive an annual incentive plan (AIP) with a target bonus of 5% of annual base earnings.

• Analyze scheduling data and supplier info to track metrics such as expense savings, past dues, dual sourcing, and inventory reductions; report issues to leadership.
• Develop and implement plans to reduce inventory levels while meeting production demands.
• Participate in A3 problem‑solving activities as needed.
• Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes that may impact material availability or cost, proactively recommending changes to procurement strategies.
