What you need:

• Professional certification in Supply Chain or Procurement preferred (PMAC)
• Post-Secondary education in Business Administration or similar discipline
• Strong computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• SAP experience required
• Minimum 3-5 years related experience within the mining industry
• Knowledge of contract negotiations, contract management, contract laws affecting procurement practices, competitive bidding process, and development of bid documents

Job Description:

• Procure goods and services to obtain the best value in terms of quality, reliability, price, and delivery
• Utilize contracts created by Strategic Sourcing to procure materials and services as required
• Sourcing and purchasing materials as needed
• Monitor purchase orders and confirm expected ship dates, updating systems accordingly
• Negotiate effectively with suppliers to obtain the best value
• Produce purchase orders from requests/requisitions and expedite to ensure timely delivery
• Manage purchase orders through to close-out and resolve related queries promptly
• Follow standard purchasing operating procedures
• Identify and address issues in the procurement process, escalating unresolved issues to the Supervisor
• Coordinate with manufacturing to eliminate parts shortages
• Document supplier performance and conduct reviews as needed
• Assist in procurement projects and programs to achieve business goals and process improvements
• Resolve Accounts Payable issues related to supplier deliveries
• Resolve purchasing problems between departments and suppliers
