Job description

As the Business Systems Lead, you are a subject matter expert in business systems management. You will oversee business systems' needs and requirements to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of high-quality solutions. Your expertise in analyzing and interpreting business needs will guide the development of innovative solutions and the implementation of functional business plans. You will play an active role in solving complex problems, taking a broad perspective to improve systems and processes.

Motivations:

• Lead project execution by guiding system changes, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards, including adherence to system ethics and PIPEDA requirements.
• Analyze and interpret business and system issues to identify opportunities for innovation and optimization.
• Guide teams in leveraging emerging technologies and best practices to address operational challenges.
• Track project progress and performance, identify risks, and recommend corrective actions.
• Provide regular updates to stakeholders to ensure transparency and informed decision-making.
• Ensure all system developments follow best practices in security, compliance, and performance optimization.
• Lead project planning by developing comprehensive system development plans with tasks, timelines, resources, and milestones.
• Lead low-code application development using platforms like JIRA and QuickBase, providing guidance on architecture and development requests.

Experience:

• 5+ years of experience in system development and project management or similar roles.
• 5+ years designing operational database pipelines involving third-party applications, including low-code platforms like JIRA and QuickBase.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and PowerShell scripting.
• Expertise in business systems and reporting best practices; ability to translate business requirements into system and reporting specifications.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with multiple stakeholders.
• Ability to identify constructability issues and develop non-routine solutions in construction planning and scheduling.
• Knowledge of PIPEDA is an asset.

Availability:

• This position is hybrid, requiring in-office presence twice a week.
