About the Role
We’re looking for a strategic and execution-focused Director of Business Systems to lead the evolution of our internal systems and data architecture in support of our high-growth SaaS business. In this cross-functional leadership role, you’ll define the roadmap for business-critical applications across Finance, RevOps, HR, and Customer Operations—enabling scale, automation, and data-driven decision-making.
You will own the enterprise systems landscape, ensuring seamless integrations, robust data governance, and modernized operations. This is a pivotal role for enabling scale, unlocking insights, and optimizing business processes in a private equity–backed environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Enterprise Systems Strategy & Execution
- Own the enterprise systems roadmap across ERP, CRM, HCM, CPQ, and other core platforms.
- Partner with business leaders to identify pain points and opportunities for automation, scalability, and integration.
- Oversee system implementations, enhancements, and vendor relationships, ensuring delivery of high-impact solutions.
- Data Architecture & Governance
- Establish frameworks for enterprise data governance, integrity, and access management.
- Ensure clean, consistent, and secure data across platforms to support analytics and reporting.
- Partner with FP&A, RevOps, and GTM leaders to enable real-time insights and self-service capabilities.
- Operational Scale & Process Optimization
- Standardize and automate key business processes to drive efficiency and compliance.
- Build integrations across systems to eliminate manual work and streamline workflows.
- Own documentation, change management, and user enablement across all supported platforms.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Build and lead a team of enterprise systems analysts, data engineers, and technical specialists.
- Foster a high-performance, collaborative, and execution-oriented culture.
- Manage external consultants and vendors as needed to support key initiatives.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in enterprise systems and data management within a SaaS or technology-driven company.
- Proven ability to lead systems strategy and data infrastructure in a high-growth or transformational environment.
- Deep hands-on experience with ERP (e.g., NetSuite), CRM (e.g., Salesforce), HCM, CPQ, and BI tools (e.g., Looker).
- Hands-on experience managing system architecture, integrations (e.g., Boomi, Workato), and data flow.
- Strong understanding of data governance, master data management, and SaaS business metrics (e.g., ARR, CAC, LTV, churn).
Preferred Experience
- Experience in a private equity–backed or M&A-heavy environment.
- Exposure to compliance standards (e.g., SOX, GDPR, SOC2).
- Experience standing up business systems teams from the ground up.
- Familiarity with PLG business models or high-velocity sales environments.
- Exposure to audit-readiness and internal control frameworks (e.g., SOX-lite, GDPR).
What You’ll Gain
- Strategic ownership of systems and data infrastructure during a pivotal growth phase.
- Influence across executive leadership and core business functions.
- A balance of strategic planning and hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.
- Competitive compensation, equity, and benefits package.
- Do work that matters. The work you and your team do will help Tempo succeed in our most critical initiatives.
- We’re growing fast, and we’ll support your career growth every step of the way.
- Work from wherever you thrive, with a flexible schedule and a supportive remote-first culture.
- We value teamwork, celebrate wins, and never miss a chance to have fun while doing great work.
- Great perks including unlimited vacation in most of our locations, training reimbursement, WFH reimbursement, and more.
- Excellent range of benefits including health, dental, vision and savings plan.
