Stubbe's Precast in Ontario is seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst to translate product ideas into clear, actionable requirements for our software team.

You will interview stakeholders, map current and future workflows, and write user stories with acceptance criteria for developers to build from. This on-site role partners with Developers, QA, and product leads in an agile/Jira environment.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Business, Operations, or related field
• Strong analytical mindset with ability to break ideas into actionable requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Experience interviewing users and synthesizing findings into a plan
• Familiarity with agile/Jira-based workflows
• Experience mapping or documenting workflows (written or visual)

Responsibilities

• Lead discovery to define how vetted ideas should work
• Interview stakeholders and end users to understand processes, pain points, outcomes
• Document current-state and future-state workflows clearly
• Create low-fidelity mock-ups or wireframes for proposed solutions
• Collaborate with Developers to validate feasibility and refine requirements

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Business Analyst with strong company and process knowledge to join our software team. This role turns product ideas into clear, practical plans, defining how a solution should work from the user’s perspective, so the team builds the right thing, the right way.

This is a full-time, on-site position working closely with the Software Development Manager, Developers, QA, and Business Stakeholders.

THE DAY TO DAY

• Take vetted product ideas and initiatives and lead discovery to define how they should work
• Interview stakeholders and end users to understand current processes, pain points, and desired outcomes
• Document current-state and future-state workflows in plain, practical detail
• Create low-fidelity mock-ups or wireframes to communicate proposed solutions
• Partner with Developers to validate technical feasibility and refine requirements based on their input
• Write clear requirements and user stories with acceptance criteria that developers can build from
• Identify edge cases, gaps, and ambiguity in requirements before development begins
• Support user acceptance testing (UAT) alongside QA to confirm delivered features match the intended user experience
• Maintain requirements documentation so decisions and rationale stay traceable

What We Are Looking For

• Strong knowledge of Stubbe's business processes and operations (or precast, construction, or manufacturing equivalent) — no formal software development background required
• Post-secondary education in Business, Operations, or a related field (or equivalent practical/company experience)
• Strong analytical mindset — able to break a vetted idea down into clear, workable requirements
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable interviewing users across departments and synthesizing findings into a clear plan
• Experience mapping or documenting workflows and processes, written or visual
• Comfortable working in an agile / Jira-based workflow, partnering closely Senior Developers
• Familiarity with tools like Jira, Confluence, or wireframing tools (e.g., Figma) is considered an asset
