Job summary

Microserve is seeking a technically strong and business-minded Business Systems Analyst to join their IT team at the head office in Port Coquitlam, BC. You will bridge operations and technology, supporting ERP and warehouse management systems, analyzing data, and driving system enhancements from requirements gathering through to delivery.

This hands-on analyst role requires programming background, strong SQL skills, and experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik,

Qualifications

• 5+ years in an enterprise IT environment as a Business Systems Analyst or similar.
• Background in programming; starting as a developer is a strong asset.
• Strong SQL skills with experience in relational databases.
• Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).
• Hands-on experience with ERP/WMS or other enterprise apps.
• Proven ability to translate business problems into requirements and solutions.
• Experience in retail, distribution, or supply chain is a strong asset.

Our client is seeking a technically strong and business-minded Business Systems Analyst to join their IT team at their head office. In this role, you will bridge the gap between operations and technology, supporting enterprise applications, analyzing data, and leading system enhancements from requirements gathering through to delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support enterprise applications: Integrate, enhance, and support enterprise-wide systems including ERP and warehouse management platforms, ensuring they meet the needs of operations and supply chain teams.
• Lead system enhancements: Help plan, coordinate, and implement application enhancements and integrations, managing work packages and delivery timelines.
• Analyze business processes: Conduct thorough business process and systems analysis to identify improvement opportunities and areas for technology investment.
• Translate requirements into solutions: Work directly with business users to understand problems and turn them into clear requirements and working technical solutions.
• Drive data and reporting: Write SQL queries and develop dashboards and reports to track KPIs, performance metrics, and operational trends.
• Recommend technology: Evaluate and recommend systems, tools, and software that align with organizational goals.
• Provide actionable insights: Deliver data-driven recommendations to business partners that support operational efficiency and strategic decisions.
• Champion change: Act as an ambassador for new technology, supporting adoption and training across teams.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of professional experience in an enterprise IT environment, in roles such as Business Systems Analyst, Application Analyst, Programmer Analyst, or similar.
• A background in programming or software development is required. Starting your career as a developer is considered a strong asset.
• Strong SQL skills are a must, along with experience working with relational databases.
• Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik.
• Hands-on experience supporting or implementing ERP, WMS, or other enterprise applications.
• A proven track record of translating business problems into requirements and working solutions.
• Experience in a retail, distribution, or supply chain environment is considered a strong asset.
• Diploma or degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
• Demonstrated project management experience, including planning and delivering work packages.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to work closely with both technical teams and business users.
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
