Job summary

Apex Systems seeks a highly technical Business Systems Analyst to support digital banking initiatives in a hybrid Downtown Toronto setting. You will partner with business and technology teams to define solution requirements, drive workshops, and map complex data and processes across online and mobile platforms.

Responsibilities include leading requirements sessions, documenting use cases and flows, and collaborating with architecture, development, QA, and product teams through the SDLC.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of Business Systems Analysis experience, ideally within large enterprise or financial services environments.
• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting digital transformation, platform modernization, enterprise integration, or shared services initiatives.
• Strong system mapping, data mapping, and current-state/future-state documentation experience.
• Experience analyzing APIs, web services, integration patterns, backend systems, architecture concepts, and system dependencies.

• Support platform modernization initiatives focused on enhancing digital banking capabilities and improving system interoperability.
• Analyze existing system dependencies and identify opportunities for API enablement and reusable shared services.
• Collaborate with multiple lines of business to support enterprise-wide platform capabilities and integrations.
• Facilitate requirement walkthroughs, design reviews, solution discussions, and implementation planning sessions.
• Support Agile delivery teams while also contributing to longer-term strategic roadmap initiatives.
• Provide recommendations to senior stakeholders regarding business, technical, and process improvements.

About the OpportunityWe are seeking a highly technical Business Systems Analyst to support strategic initiatives within the Digital Banking organization, focused on Online Banking and Mobile Banking platforms.This role will work on platform modernization, enterprise integrations, and shared services initiatives that enable multiple business lines to leverage common capabilities across the organization. The successful candidate will partner with business stakeholders, architects, developers, product teams, and technology leaders to drive solution design, system integrations, API enablement, and AI-related platform enhancements.The ideal candidate brings strong system mapping, data mapping, requirements management, and integration analysis experience within large enterprise environments.

The consultant will support digital banking initiatives across online/mobile banking, platform modernization, enterprise integrations, shared services, AI-enabled enhancements, Salesforce integrations, and cross-functional capabilities used across multiple business units.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 7+ years of Business Systems Analysis experience, ideally within large enterprise or financial services environments.
• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
• Experience supporting digital transformation, platform modernization, enterprise integration, or shared services initiatives.
• Strong system mapping, data mapping, and current-state/future-state documentation experience.

• Experience creating business process models, process flows, use cases, business rules, and process documentation.
• Ability to facilitate workshops, manage stakeholders, and translate business needs into clear technical requirements.

Methodologies & Tools

• Agile delivery experience with strong knowledge of SDLC practices.
• Experience with UML, Object-Oriented Analysis, JIRA, and Confluence.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, documentation, and facilitation skills.

Soft Skills

• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Comfortable working with senior leadership, technology teams, and cross-functional business partners.
• Able to influence decisions through analysis, provide recommendations independently, and operate with minimal supervision.
• Flexible, adaptable, and able to balance strategic initiatives with Agile squad delivery responsibilities.
• Strong relationship-building and collaboration skills.

Apex pay scales are determined by role, experience, skill set, and location. For this new position, the estimated hourly range is provided below as a guideline; however, total compensation may vary based on individual circumstances.
