About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our client, a leading bank in Canada. This role involves supporting the measurement and management of balance sheet, market, and liquidity risks for portfolios. The successful candidate will work with cutting-edge technologies, including Big Data and NoSQL databases, to enhance risk management processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Analyze, document, and validate business rules requirements from business users.
• Write, test, and optimize Spark SQL statements to translate business requirements into programming code.
• Use Visual Studio (SQL Integration Services) to analyze SSIS packages.
• Complete and update project requirements documentation, ensuring efficient and on-time delivery of project tasks and milestones.
• Collaborate closely with the technology team to implement requirements and provide guidance during the QA process.
• Assess business process and system inefficiencies, recognizing patterns and conceptualizing processes.
• Participate in standup and planning meetings as part of the Agile methodology framework.

Top Skills Required:

• 10+ years of experience in Business Systems Analysis, including gathering and interpreting business requirements, and creating data solutions.
• 5+ years of advanced SQL experience for data manipulation, database relationships, file formatting, data analysis, testing, and validation.
• 5+ years of experience in the financial services industry, specifically in Capital Markets, Treasury, or Financial Risk (Market Risk/CCR/Liquidity Risk).

Secondary Skills - Nice to Have:

• Experience with Big Data and NoSQL databases (Hadoop/HBase/Spark) and Spark SQL.
• Familiarity with RDBMS (Oracle, SQL Server), and Liquidity Monitoring Report FR 2052a.
