Job description

As a Business Systems Analyst, you manage functional and non‑functional requirements, facilitate stakeholder sessions, and collaborate across technology teams to deliver solutions. You’ll oversee the full lifecycle—from requirement gathering to implementation, data analysis, and solution design—ensuring alignment with business goals and compliance.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate, interview, extract, and document detailed functional and non‑functional requirements.
  • Liaise with business stakeholders to understand industry trends, priorities, and translate them into solution designs.
  • Support Agile processes: backlog refinement, sprint planning, and continuous delivery of requirements.
  • Define and communicate system requirements at the appropriate level of detail to guide technology solutions.
  • Analyze and conceptualize solution design in collaboration with Solution Architects, vendors, software developers, and QA analysts.
  • Lead and participate in requirement workshops, ensuring business needs are reflected in deliverables.
  • Collaborate with internal and external teams to define API requirements, data contracts, integration specifications, and data‑exchange processes.
  • Document system interactions, integration workflows, and data mappings for development use.
  • Coordinate and support QA activities, including test‑case creation, defect triage, business validation, and sign‑off.
  • Assist with the creation of test strategies, test plans, and test summary reports to support transition to production.
  • Ensure security, privacy, and compliance considerations (e.g., HIPAA, PIPEDA) are incorporated into requirements.
  • Engage and coordinate with external vendors and integration partners to align requirements, APIs, and data‑exchange standards.
  • Recommend and lead process and procedure improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
  • Build trusted relationships with stakeholders and manage competing priorities, scope changes, and conflicting requirements.
  • Follow established enterprise practices, standards, and processes.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of current system standards and departmental methodologies.
  • Create interface mapping and specification documents detailed enough for developers to code accurately.
Qualifications
  • BSc in Business Administration or/and Computer Science.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience as a Business Analyst, Solution Analyst, or Systems Analyst in a software development environment.
  • Strong business knowledge of the health and wellness space and the ability to acquire analysis methods rapidly.
  • Excellent analytical, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • Solid understanding of ETL processes, mapping specifications, and data‑transformation tools.
  • Ability to communicate complex and technical information to both peers and business audiences in clear, natural language.
  • Prioritization, multitasking, and independent working capabilities within a team setting.
  • Advanced analytical, problem‑solving, critical‑thinking, and time‑management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer‑service orientation.
  • Flexibility to thrive in a fast‑paced, constantly changing environment with shifting priorities.
  • Awareness of cybersecurity, data‑privacy, and compliance frameworks in health/wellness technology.
  • CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) and/or Agile‑related certifications (PMI‑ACP, SAFe Agilist, or Agile BA) are assets.
  • Experience in health benefits, wellness, disability management, insurance, healthcare, or employee‑benefits industries is an asset.
Benefits
  • Comprehensive health and dental insurance.
  • Retirement savings plan with company contributions.
  • Health and wellness programs, including mental health support.
  • Training opportunities and assistance in obtaining professional designations.
  • Competitive compensation package.
  • Base salary range of $70,000 – $95,000 annually (variable components may apply).
