We are looking for a Business Analyst (5+ years experience) to translate and communicate Technical Debt business requirements and recommendations into clear Interoperability business solutions to client technical developers and management to ensure understanding of needs and the scope of the required business solution.

Requirements Gathering
Once You Are Here, You Will:
Collaborate with stakeholders (business users, developers, and product managers) to collect detailed functional and non-functional requirements for APIs.
Conduct workshops to understand how the APIs will be used in various business contexts.
Defining API Specifications
Create clear and detailed API documentation that includes endpoint definitions, request and response formats, authentication methods, error handling, and versioning.
Use standards like OpenAPI to visualize API specifications, which can serve as both documentation and a prototype.
User Stories And Use Cases
Ensure user stories capture both business and technical requirements, including edge cases and error scenarios.
Stakeholder Reviews And Feedback
Organize review sessions with stakeholders to present API designs and gather feedback.
Iterate on API specifications based on stakeholder input to ensure the final product meets user needs.
Collaboration With Development Teams
Work closely with software developers to clarify requirements and ensure a shared understanding of the API functionalities.
Facilitate communication between technical and non-technical teams to address any misunderstandings in project requirements.
Testing And Validation
Develop test cases based on the API specifications to verify that the API meets the initial requirements.
Participate in user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure that the API is functioning as expected and meets user needs.
Change Management
Document changes to APIs as the project progresses and communicate these changes to relevant stakeholders.
Help manage version control, ensuring backward compatibility and clear communication of changes to existing users.
Continuous Improvement
Gather feedback post-implementation from API users and stakeholders to identify areas for improvement.
Suggest enhancements based on evolving business needs and technological advancements.
Mandatory Qualifications
Must demonstrate, using one (1) or more projects, a minimum number of five (5) years of experience within the last fifteen (10) years.
The project(s) must demonstrate the same or similar tasks detailed below:
develop and document statements of requirements for considered alternatives;
perform business analyses of functional requirements to identify information, procedures, and decision flows;
evaluate existing procedures and methods, identify and document items such as database content, structure, Application subsystems;
define and document interfaces of manual to automated operations within Application subsystems, to external systems, and between new and existing systems;
establish acceptance test criteria with client; and
support and use the selected departmental methodologies.
Must demonstrate, using project descriptions, experience in Oracle and API within the last seven (7) years, as follow:
Three (3) projects, each with a minimum duration of six (6) consecutive months demonstrating experience in the tools listed above; or
Must have a Canadian university degree or college/CEGEP diploma related to computer science, information technology, or engineering or the equivalent as established by a recognized Canadian academic credentials assessment service.
A copy of the degree or diploma must be provided.
Federal security clearance at level Reliability or ability to obtain a clearance at the Reliability level.
