Base pay range

Responsibilities

• Lead multiple projects as a business consultant, designing solutions and eliciting requirements with strong documentation skills.
• Manage stakeholders effectively, demonstrating excellent communication abilities.
• Analyze and understand data using SQL, Excel, Hadoop HUE, and Data Bricks SQL.
• Participate in requirement gathering sessions, ensuring IT and business alignment.
• Work with big data technologies on-premise (Hadoop) and cloud (Azure), supporting data migration and building data lakes.

Qualifications

• 5+ years experience as a business consultant with project leadership and solution design.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Proficiency in data analysis tools and techniques.

Nice to Have

• 2+ years experience with Confluence, Jira, GitHub.
• Data modeling skills (relational, dimensional, NoSQL) and data profiling expertise.
• Experience with both waterfall and Agile (Scrum, Kanban) methodologies.
• Familiarity with Azure services (Data Factory, SQL Managed Instance, Data Lake, Data Bricks).
• Knowledge of Hadoop services (HDFS, Hive, Impala, Hue).

Job Details

As part of CIBC’s Big Data Platform Services team, you will serve as a liaison between business and technical teams, ensuring understanding and alignment of requirements. You will lead requirement sessions, provide expertise to project managers, update leadership, and coordinate with technical groups to ensure seamless delivery. This role requires critical thinking, data modeling, and data profiling skills.

You will gain deep understanding of CIBC data, orchestrate complex data mapping, and work with big data technologies on-premise and in the cloud. The project involves migrating data from EDH to EDGE and building a data lake for business use.
