Business Support Technical Analyst (CAD)

Join to apply for the Business Support Technical Analyst (CAD) role at City of Calgary.

This role focuses on providing software and hardware support related to Computer Assisted Design (CAD), with responsibilities including supporting Autodesk and Bentley software, managing CAD files and user accounts, developing scripts, and supporting related processes and systems.

Responsibilities include:

1. Providing technical support for Autodesk (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, AutoCAD Map) and Bentley (MicroStation, ProjectWise) software.
2. Maintaining CAD file storage configurations and folder setups.
3. Managing CAD user accounts and access.
4. Developing and testing FME and Python scripts.
5. Contributing to FME development and deployment best practices.
6. Supporting process and system enhancement initiatives.
7. Creating documentation for geospatial data transformation and procedures.
8. Supporting large format plotting, scanning, and document management of CAD drawings.

Qualifications:

• Completion of a 2-year technical diploma in IT, Geomatics Engineering Technology, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with CAD and geospatial software/tools.
• Proficiency in MicroStation or AutoCAD is required.
• Experience with Bentley and Autodesk products preferred.
• Experience with FME, SQL, Python, or similar programming languages is an asset.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently and in teams.
