Job Summary

The Strategy Specialist supports the Business Strategy & IT team by conducting in‑depth data analysis, market research, and business performance evaluation to guide strategic planning and organizational decision‑making. The role gathers and analyzes data from various sources, identifies key trends and insights, and develops actionable recommendations that support short‑ and long‑term business objectives. The ideal candidate is highly analytical, detail‑oriented, and comfortable managing multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment. This position reports to the Senior Manager, Business Strategy & IT.

Principal Accountabilities
Data Management & Analysis
  • Collect, clean, validate, and maintain large datasets from internal systems, retail partners, and external market sources, ensuring a high level of data accuracy and completeness.
  • Update and manage data in Excel, dashboards, and other data management systems with consistency.
  • Conduct detailed quantitative analysis to evaluate business performance, identify trends, and uncover growth opportunities or operational risks.
  • Calculate and track KPIs, sales performance, forecasting metrics, and business mix to support performance reviews.
  • Use statistical analysis to derive actionable insights that support strategic decision‑making.
  • Develop and maintain automated or semi‑automated dashboards and reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, Tableau, etc.) for real‑time visibility into business performance.
Market, Consumer and Competitor Research
  • Perform ongoing market research to track category dynamics, consumer behavior shifts, and emerging beauty trends (especially in skincare, sun‑care, and K‑beauty).
  • Monitor competitor activities, new launches, and channel strategies across cosmetics retailers and digital platforms.
  • Conduct basic analytic research and provide data‑driven recommendations for business opportunities and risks.
  • Compile regular reports summarizing market and competitor analysis, including SWOT analysis, to support strategic decision‑making.
  • Support the Senior Strategy Manager in developing medium‑ and long‑term strategic initiatives across brands and channels.
  • Provide data‑backed recommendations to guide portfolio strategy, channel prioritization, product launch planning, and brand positioning.
  • Support the execution and monitoring of various strategic initiatives, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure successful implementation of projects based on strategic planning.
  • Identify gaps in current market research and analysis processes and suggest improvements.
  • Assist in ad‑hoc data requests and business analysis as required from brands or business leaders.
  • Contribute to annual and mid‑year business planning cycles by providing updated market insights, forecast trends, and competitive assessments.
Key Experience and Skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Market Research, Statistics, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data analysis, market research, or business strategy roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Strong quantitative and analytical skills, including statistical interpretation and problem‑solving.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex data clearly and concisely.
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet tight deadlines.
  • Knowledge of beauty industry trends, consumer behavior, competitive dynamics, and forecasting methodologies is an advantage.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and communicate insights that drive business success.
  • Meticulous, analytical, and able to work independently with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong sense of urgency with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • A confident self‑starter with high levels of initiative, drive, and ownership.
  • Self‑motivated, committed, diligent, trustworthy, and reliable.
