Aviva seeks a Business Process Optimization Lead to transform and optimize processes within their Personal Insurance division. The role involves strategic collaboration to implement enhanced business models, ensuring robust change management and fostering continuous improvement. We are embarking on an exciting journey to transform our Personal Insurance business with our move to Guidewire. As the Business Process Optimization Lead, you will work in a collaborative and matrixed environment, to impact, influence and negotiate with key partners and be considered a strategic advisor and inspiring leader in the delivery of business process reengineering and optimization to drive efficiency and enhance overall user experience and straight through processing.
Shape the transformation and redesign of processes in the Personal Insurance business, through the design and delivery of a future state vision and a repeatable and effective process engineering design practice, informed by organizational and industry best practices.
You will deliver optimized and enhanced business processes, collaborate with senior leadership and teams across the organization to streamline our operations and implement strong business models. You will foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the operations teams, encouraging proactive problem-solving and new ways of working.

What you'll do:
Delivery of new business processes as part of Personal Insurance Transformation. Overseeing implementation, securing agreement from impacted partners and embedding future-proof change in our ways of working to drive a more efficient and robust Personal Insurance business.
Align with business partners on critical metrics that show the intended improvements from the redesign work, and ensuring sufficient monitoring is in place from launch date.
Setting a foundation for future improvement by empowering business teams to monitor and quickly adjust to changes in the external and internal environment which impact the designed processes.
Conduct analysis, and collaborate across Operations, enablement and PI teams, to identify and deliver optimization opportunities, with emphasis on initiatives which reduce risk, improve the broker/customer experience and streamline / digitize/ automate / simplify business processes.
Work closely with business and project teams to understand objectives and technology capabilities, ensuring a holistic approach that considers people, systems, and workflows.
Partner to drive the adoption of the designed automation and digital transformation tools. Ensure successful launches, seamless implementation and operational integration of projects and initiatives, including applicable training, communication and change management requirements to enhance adoption.
Encourage the team to identify and eliminate non-value-adding processes, focusing on business value.
Keep up-to-date with industry trends and advancements in business process reengineering methodologies.
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in business process reengineering or process improvement roles. P&C insurance experience is preferred.
Strong track record in (ideally in the insurance industry) process engineering, design, optimization, ownership and automation, as well as operational management or large-scale continuous improvement programs..
Experience in a transformational environment, overseeing implementation through to the launch of new processes, influencing a broad range of partners and varying levels of seniority
Demonstrated experience with P&C Insurance processes such as underwriting operations, billing regulatory compliance, risk management, and customer servicing.
Ability to think strategically, articulate complex challenges, and develop and execute on strategic initiatives at all levels of the organization.
Keen interest in technology as an enabler to operations, derive actionable insights from complex data, with a proven ability to conceptualize and analytical problem solving.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize for impact, handle competing priorities and deliver on time, while working with partners to ensure prioritization meets needs.
Expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, or similar process improvement methodologies.
Highly collaborative and able to thrive in a matrixed environment, with the ability to impact, influence and negotiate with key senior partners
